RDI Developments
| RDI develops
residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
Working with municipalities and area residents, RDI
identifies and pursues projects throughout the Franklin
County and North Quabbin region in support of affordable
housing and sustained economic opportunity.
RDI acquires and develops properties and also contracts
as the developer for other entities. RDI is currently
involved in a number of initiatives involving both
substantial renovation initiatives and new construction
projects through-out the region.

| The Smikes
House Renovation |
|
 |
RDI worked with the Town of Whately
to convert a vacant and distressed town-owned single-family
dwelling into 2 units of affordable elderly housing.
This town center property was gutted with over 500
hours of donated labor from Whately residents, local
civic organizations, employees of local area businesses,
and town officials on national "Let's Make
a Difference Day". |
Funding
for the Development
RDI secured $193,000 in Housing Development Support
Program (HDSP) to substantially renovate this innovative
elderly housing development that remains affordable
and requires no ongoing government subsidy. |
| The Crocker
& Cutlery Renovation |
|
|
|
RDI transformed and preserved
the 1880 brick and cornerstone fire-ravaged historic
Crocker Bank Building and the severely distressed,
19th century historic Cutlery Block. RDI's development
efforts restored these two prominent Village center
properties to preserve essential commercial space
and to create 48 units of affordable rental housing.
|
| The Moltenbrey
Renovation |
|
RDI purchased the historic, town center, 19th century Moltenbrey
building to preserve and substantially upgrade 26 single-room
occupancy units, improve the 2 commercial spaces, and complement
the ongoing revitalization efforts in the Village of Turners
Falls. Construction was completed in July 2005.
| The Orange Recovery
House |
|
RDI is developing a new facility for a local non-profit
to rent to the Franklin Medical Center for the area’s
newest residential program for 15 men in recovery from drug
and alcohol abuse. Construction on the project began in
October 2005 and is slated to be complete in July 2006.
