About RDI

Rural Development, Inc. (RDI) is a non-profit organization that was created by the Franklin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) in 1991.

RDI works with its partners to expand housing and economic opportunities for residents and communities in rural Franklin County and the North Quabbin region of Western Massachusetts.

 


RDI's Mission

It is the mission of Rural Development, Inc. (RDI) to advance the right of all people in Franklin County and the North Quabbin region to occupy environmentally responsible, energy efficient, affordable housing and to improve economic independence. Further, RDI strives to promote environmental awareness, and to operate in a manner that is respectful of the rural character of our region.

Our Work

RDI works with residents and communities to expand affordable single-family and multi-family housing opportunities. RDI identifies needs, develops strategies, and accesses resources to develop, build, and/or undertake substantial renovation of distressed properties to produce more affordable housing for our regions residents.

RDI also works in conjunction with the Franklin Regional Economic Development Initiative to help advance key economic and commercial development initiatives in the Franklin County and North Quabbin region.
