Project Description
The Ashfield House is an historic, eighteen unit, four-story wood-frame building located in downtown Ashfield with one (1), two (2), and three (3) bedroom units.  Upper-story units are accessible by stairs. A full coin-op laundromat in the building is available to residents and the general public. The property is located within walking distance of small businesses and services including restaurants, convenience stores, churches, and the post office.

Eligibility
Income limits are adjusted according to family size which includes entire household income. The Ashfield House has units set aside for households at a range of income levels. These restrictions apply specifically to individual units, which include 30%, 50%, 60%, 80% AMI.

Applicants are processed in accordance for eligibility for each specific unit. Income limit information can be found at huduser.gov.

Rent for seven units at this property are subsidized by the Project Based Housing Choice Voucher program and three units are subsidized by Project Based Massachusetts Rental Voucher program. Both programs are administered through the Franklin County Regional Housing & Redevelopment Authority. Eligibility for the remaining eight non-subsidized units at the Ashfield House is determined by rent affordability standards.

Rent Affordability
In order to meet rent affordability requirements, rent must total no more than 35%  of a household's total monthly income.  Households that already have housing vouchers (Section 8, MRVP, or others) will also meet affordability requirements, and are welcome and encouraged to apply.

Waitlist Length
The waitlist for Ashfield House depends on many variables including the applicant’s income, the size of the unit being applied for and current vacancies in the building.
